I started playing around 1965, 66 age 10 or 11. My first guitar other than the lessons rental was a Teisco Del Ray with a Lectrolab amp. Wish I still had the amp. My first good guitar was a 79 strat bought in 1980 that I still have and use for recording occasionally. I got a black Gibson LP 3 gold pickup (Peter Frampton) type in 83 and still have it as well. It was stolen and recovered once, and sold and bought back once, but I think I'm keeping it til I croak now... I do covers of all kinds of rock songs from early 60's to modern, but mostly 60's and 70's. I am retired in the Midwest and do this for the FUN of it. I first started recording several years ago to critique my own playing and was frankly surprised how bad it sounded. So I decided to keep at it and improve and post the videos along the way. I have no real talent but my goal is make songs sound as close to the original as possible. I hope you enjoy the music as much as I do putting it together...
Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding cover
Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding cover played to a non-original backing track. Opening songs from 1973's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road that I think are just awesome. They are not really a medley but are played that way. Wherever there are keyboards alone I inserted an image of the album cover; the guitar parts start at 1:38. I was so excited to do it I even changed the strings on my 'Black Beauty' without trimming the ends ;-). Enjoy ~

Jessie's Girl cover

Jessie's Girl cover played to a backing track. 1981 song from Rick Springfield that was a big success at the time and I think has aged pretty well and was also a MTV mainstay. I've done it a couple times before but after hearing it recently I wanted to correct some mistakes that I've made and maybe get it closer to the original... Enjoy ~
Ride Captain Ride cover

Ride Captain Ride cover played to a non-original backing track. 1970 song from Blues Image that was pretty much a one hit wonder for them, but it was a good song with a somewhat fanciful and interesting story. I probably haven't heard it for more than 45-50 years but still knew pretty much all the lyrics - wish I had that same recall for important stuff ;-)... Enjoy ~
All Along the Watchtower cover

All Along the Watchtower cover played to a non-original backing track. 1967 song by Bob Dylan that was covered by Jimi Hendrix in 1968 and become one of the best rock songs of all time. I hope Mr. Dylan at least got some royalties for it ;-)... I've always liked it a lot and played bits and pieces over the years. This was the first time I actually tried to learn the verse rhythm fills and nearl...
Rockin' Down the Highway cover

Rockin' Down the Highway cover played to a non-original backing track. 1972 song from the Doobie Brothers that, unlike me, hits all of the right notes ;-)... Nice up-tempo rocker that still sounds pretty good! Enjoy ~
Roll On Down the Highway cover

Roll On Down the Highway cover played to a non-original backing track. High energy BTO song from 1974 that was popular at the time and still sounds pretty good. They made several songs that were absolutely played to death on the radio, but some others that you never hardly heard were real gems. Enjoy ~
South City Midnight Lady cover

South City Midnight Lady cover played to a non-original backing track. 1973 song from the Doobie Brothers that was one of the many hits from their third album. It wasn't played to death on AM radio like a couple others but was every bit as good. Just a nice, easy listening song in my opinion... I took some liberties with the slide/pedal steel in particular. The acoustic and Tele are open G tuni...

Sirius/Eye In the Sky cover played to a non-original backing track. 2 great songs in 1982 from The Alan Parsons Project album of the same name. I've previously done Sirius, but Eye In the Sky is new for me, and both were a pleasure to do... Enjoy ~
Drift Away cover

Drift Away cover played to a non-original backing track. 1973 song that got a lot of airplay at the time, but other than tv commercial snippets I haven't heard it in many years. Nice harmonies with the guitars and it was fun to put it together. Enjoy ~
She's My Baby cover

She's My Baby cover played to a non-original backing track. 1990 song from the Traveling Wilburys, with Gary Moore playing lead guitar - which would explain the speed and difficulty of some of it ;-)... I had to make a few accommodations but stuck with it for the most part. There's also an acoustic guitar in the rhythm track that I ended up putting on the cutting room floor.. Enjoy ~
End of the Line cover

End of the Line cover played to a non-original backing track. 1988 song by the Traveling Wilburys that is one of my favorites from them. In the music video they did for it, the empty rocking chair for Roy Orbison is quite moving as a tribute to him... Enjoy ~
(Ghost) Riders in the Sky cover

(Ghost) Riders in the Sky cover played to a non-original backing track. Fun song from around 1949 that I just like doing, so here's another version - this time I used a slide. That guitar is tuned with the D string up to E, G string up to A and the B string up to C, so I guess you could call it open Am. I also replaced the D string with a steel one for better tone. The other two are standard tu...
Fortunate Son cover

Fortunate Son cover played to a backing track. CCR song from 1969 that has been widely viewed as an anti- war anthem since it's release, and is a damn fine song too if you ask me... The tele is tuned down a whole step and since it was signed by CCR a few years ago, I thought it was a good choice. The LP is in standard tuning... Enjoy ~
Baby Please Don't Go cover

Baby Please Don't Go cover played to a non-original backing track. Traditional blues song dating back to the 1930's and perhaps much further to the 1800's, from what I read. This is based on the Them version from 1964 that is quick and lively. I've always liked it - so here it is - short and sweet - Enjoy ~
Rattled cover

Rattled cover played to a non-original backing track. Another song from the Traveling Wilbury's first album in 1988 that is short and sweet. I like that Memphis slap back sound and this one has it. Enjoy ~
8:42 What's the only thing better than two 'Les Pauls'...?... 3 'Les Pauls'
That's what I was thinking 😎...
Very good. I would've like to see a closer version.
Thanks! This one is on my list to redo with better video...
Great job and very nice LP Custom you have!
Thank you for both!
Good job! And, beautiful guitars!
Thank you for both!
Que lindo gatito , y me encantó tu canción y tú voz .
Thank you! The cat is mine, but the vocals were part of the backing track not me...😎
A Taylor! A Strat! A classic Bob song cover by Jimi. Now covered by you! Very well played. No joke, not talking falsely now. Wah wah rules. Cheers, Bill
Thank you!
Egads! This is total fun and very well done. My first guitar was also a Tiesco with a Sears Silvertone amp. Christmas 1968, when I was 12. I'm in Wisconsin and glad to have found you from a random RUclips suggestion. Peace, Bill
Thank you very much! I guess I'm about as random as it gets 😎...
Amazing performance
Thank you!

Thanks for listening!
You f****** Rock bro good luck though finding a keyboard player that can play Mike Pender's parts especially with A mellowtron you can't find a mellowtron anywhere. . I had to show it to my family and all sorts of people they thought that that was all real just real orchestra how to tell him the reason that the orchestra was put in there was the backup the MELLOWTRON . I'm probably spelling it wrong but I asked consider the first sampler and the first synthesizer because they had all those recorded parts of pianos and then violin's flutes and pretty much every Symphony thing you could find Oregon's Horns there's even some other models that have a Bigger version I have 2 keyboards built into it and they have Hope bunch of Special Effects sounds and stuff like that they Used To use for making movies so half the melatron was for your typical music stuff and The Other half of the military unlike it was all Special Effects all sorts the weirdest of Rain storms Thunder gunshots earthquakes and a million other things Space rays Lasers this was the first Real synthesizer the Chamberlain Was one version I believe the 1 version we had here was kind of a field version and then the military but you gotta have good tape reels and after some time those tape reels die but I saw where people still have old tapes from the 1960s brand new ready to repair any melotron that swore down is the tape reels go to s*** like all tape real's 8 track tapes VCR tapes young people wouldn't even know what I'm talking about I don't think LOL. I did just recently see a synthesizer keyboard that people were playing that is like a digital copy of the melotron but it will never be thick and real sounding like that. Oh this flat technology is nowhere near as thick is the old tape real technology. Although it's guy's flaws it also has a lot of warmth in life that digital and stuff like c d's and computer chips just they compress everything in a bad and take away the life sound and that's the same thing for all these digital guitar stuff that everybody's wanting to use yeah they sound better now than it used to be but it's still nothing compared to a real classic tube amplifier like a Marshall you sound like you're using a Marshall or something really nice there sounds good if his digital is good digital we all know Analog is the absolute best when it comes to synthesizer keyboards or guitar amplifiers guitar pedals. A great rock and man and You sound pretty good too but I would like to hear you on a cranked Marshall for sure especially for those leads towards the end. You're pulling off that tone pretty good but it could use more power. But your playing is fantastic I plays well I gotta tell you a well done man well done .
Good job, love that era for music
Thank you!
Very good attempt .bravo.
Thank you!
Well done, I’m impressed 👍
Thanks for listening!
Muy buena la interpretación🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️
Gracias amigo!
Great job. Love how you broke down all three parts
Thank you!
good job
Thanks!
👍
Thanks!
Wow, nice! Well done. Keep on rockin'
Thank you!
I think back than that they used a Fender Vibratone. I know Caleb Quaye played through one Elton’s ,”Where to now St. Peter”.
Could be - it sure sounds similar to this song's effects... I have vibrato on the Super champ I used - I should have tried that - maybe it would have been better than the tremolo. The leslie was just added software/effects but did give it that sweeping/whooshing sound 😎 Great song, like so many he did.........
Well done!
Thank you!
I play in a band with the guitar and bass player from JoJo Gunne. Nice job!
Thank you very much! I was 16 when this song came out and thought it was awesome, and still do... I've done a couple Spirit songs as well; as I seem to remember a connection between the two groups? Please pass on my admiration for their fine work and best wishes to you all for continued success 😎
Great job, love that song!👍
Thank you - me too!

Cat struts in as dude kicks off on iconic solo, and then swivels chair. Doesn’t get much cooler than that.
Nice job!
Thank you much!
Could you cover Prime Time, I sure thank-you
Great cover, I was in Highschool in the 70's, great era for music.
Thank you - I agree, it certainly was!
awesome ❤
Thank you!
Very cool! 😊
Thank you kindly!
Its my late Father in Law's. We have it on a guitar stand on top of a hutch. We light it up now and then. Love BTO, I play many myself. Good playing!
That's a good idea - and thank you for the kudo! Funny, I just finished Roll on Down the Highway...😎
I have that same clock!
I still have it - I think I bought it at Walgreens about a dozen years ago 😎
👍👍
Thank you 😎
One of my Fav Doobie songs with a country background!

Thank you much!
Great job!!! Impressive!!!
Thank you!
2 very nice cover, thumps up.👍
Thank you!
🌟💯👍✌
Thank you!
Sir, I just ran into your channel. Wow. Fantastic. I’m an older guy trying to get better, maybe intermediate player. The library you’ve amassed is unreal. Thanks, I’ll be going through all your stuff and look forward to seeing more.
Thanks - you're too kind! Some of it is pretty good, some not so - and a few are like 'what was he thinkin'... I do the best for most to just try to make it sound like the originals. If I did it for the fame and glory I would have dried up and went broke by now - it's just a fun hobby and keeps me off the streets 😎
Nice cover, good to see you back.
Thank you, and thank you ~ I took some time off from playing over the winter.......
